Karel Moyer (b.1986, Miami, FL) at age 7 he moved to New Jersey where he later received an AA in Education before serving 4 years in the US Navy, followed by a BFA in Painting and Drawing from CU Denver. While growing up in NJ, he developed a strong interest in the street art as well as the contemporary galleries and museums in New York and Philadelphia, and works in a style inspired by these urban genres.
His work is multimedia, 2-D, and displays vibrant colors and bold line work. Inspired by Situationist philosophy, his work deals with social injustice in capitalist societies. He juxtaposes the serious subject matter with cartoon-like imagery creating an awkward tension for the viewer. He creates and borrows symbols from society to develop a distinct artistic language.
